You
can bring your own device to CiaoTalk as long
as it supports SIP services. SIP stands for Session
Initiation Protocol and allows companies and individuals
to use open standards based equipment from a variety
of manufacturers such as Grandstream, Aastra,
Linksys and a multiple of others.
CiaoTalk
does not support Skype™ or other closed formats
in use with the service. If you have Skype™
or other formats that are closed, we regret to
inform you that these devices cannot be supported
on our network.
If
you do not want to purchase equipment, you can
use softphones on your computer freely such as
X-Lite. Other devices allow you to purchase equipment
that allows use of your current analog telephone
equipment.
