Using
a free SIP Softphone
You
can setup a free softphone easily for CiaoTalk
without the need to purchase a softphone. The
CiaoTalk application uses standard and open SIP
technologies allowing you to take advantage of
softphone technology and using open tools.
In
this example, we are using X-Lite as the client,
which will work on Windows™, Linux and MAC™
OS/X™ so whatever your computer is running
for an operating system, you'll find that the
software works for you.
You'll
need a CiaoTalk account to get started, using
either the free version or a combination of both
technologies. The X-Lite client is easy to setup
and use, and it also provides you with the ability
to run your homephone or business phone right
from your computer.
